Hi!

I’m Kevin O’Keeffe — a writer, educator, and host who writes, speaks, and teaches about arts and culture. Beyond my other work, my biggest claim to fame is being a Drag Race herstorian.

As you’ll see in the pages of this website, I have created a lot of content about Drag Race. Hundreds of recaps and power rankings, a variety of essays and analysis pieces, various video series — I’ve been covering this show for over a decade in one way or another. To put it simply: I have written more about this show than anyone else on the planet. The BBC even thinks I know my stuff!

However, I’ve done it in so many different places — most significantly Xtra, but also Mic, INTO, and even my own Patreon project, “Drag Race Rewind” — that I’ve always wanted to give it all one place to live. Moreover, I want to have a place where new content can live; projects that aren’t covering Drag Race week-by-week, but reflect on the past and look to the future. Thus, Ruvisiting was born!

Ruvisiting is not just a website dumping ground — it’s also an Instagram presence, a YouTube channel, and more. My hope is that it continues to grow as we head into the series’ 20th anniversary year that starts in 2028 with RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 20.
